A globe valve is a linear motion valve used to stop, start, and regulate fluid flow. The globe valve disk can be removed entirely from the flow path, or it can completely close the flow path. During the opening and closing of the valve, the disc moves perpendicularly to the seat.
Compared with the gate valve, there’s less leakage from the globe valve seat, which allows a tighter seal between seat and disk.
Globe valves are extensively employed to control flow. The range of flow control, pressure drop, and duty must be considered in the design of the valve to avert premature failure and to assure satisfactory service. Valves subjected to high-differential pressure-throttling service require specially designed valve trim.
Easy maintenance and repair.
Good shutoff capability.
Shorter stem travel.
Available in a variety of patterns.
Good throttling capability.
It can be used as a stop check valve.
