1. Introduction
The Wafer Type Butterfly Valve is designed to maintain a seal against bi-directional pressure differential to prevent any backflow, This butterfly valve is featured by a wafer connection: there’re four holes that align with the connected pipeline. Thus the Wafer Type Butterfly Valve is designed to clamp between two flanges in the pipework.
According to the types of sealing: there can be resilient seated butterfly valves and metal seated butterfly valves. The resilient seated butterfly valve is the zero offset sort, which means that there’s no offset near the stem. Thus our Wafer Style Resilient Seated Butterfly Valve is also known as concentric butterfly valve.
This resilient seated butterfly valve has various types of seat material: PTFE, EPDM, or NBR. For this reason, this resilient seated butterfly valve is also known as Wafer Type EPDM Seat Butterfly Valve or Rubber Seat Butterfly Valve. Unlike the offset seated butterfly valve, the rubber seat of this concentric butterfly valve covers the body ensuring that the valve body doesn’t come in contact with the material passing through the pipe.
